This chapter shows the application of the equilibrium theories studied in Chaper 3 to specific engineering structures.

The analysis of a structure involves the equilibrium of a rigid body built by connecting a number of members.  Beside calculating the external applied forces and the reactions at the supports of the body, the analysis requires the calculation of internal forces acting on the joints connecting members of the body.
